Re: pews within the Church

Amen!!!!!!!!

I am a convert to Orthodoxy (chrismated Dec. 22, 2001) and the parish I belong to is over 50% convert. (Antiochian Parish) I and most others stand throughout the entire Litgurgy except for the sermon which our Priest gives following the reading of the Gospel. It just seems natural to me to keep standing......I don't know why but at most it seems like our Liturgy is only 35 minutes when in fact it goes for at least 1 and 1/2 hours. We do have chairs for those who wish to sit or who are unable to stand for extended periods of time. In actuallity, I don't believe anyone really pays attention to who stands and who sits throughout the Liturgy.
