Thank you Thomas and James.
I would like to clarify what I meant by the Holy Spirit's presence. What I meant to say was I (we) have see God moving in our lives over the last few years (prayers answered, etc). At the same time though, I have experienced the presence of "spirits" that are not of God also. And, I thank God that He was there to intervene and take control.
I will check out the links you have given to me, and we have already approached the priest at our local church to set up a meeting to speak with him and get more information.
I would like to say that maybe I am just being stubborn, because when I have been part of the Orthodox Liturgy, I feel a great peace of mind and spirit and see how beautiful it is to have an entire service which is in reverence and worship to God, instead of a service where there is "praise and worship" time and then a "what can God do for me" time. I came to the conclusion last summer that it's not about what God can do for me, but what I can do for God. I feel this: Jesus was willing to die for us. He does not want us to die for him. His question to us is: are you willing live for Jesus and do what is right and required by Him.
Again, thank you for your responses. I will be in touch soon!
