>>I'm praying that the Holy Spirit continues to lead me and my husband<<
Christ is risen!
Dear Adele and Nick
The Lord will lead you as you obediently and faithfully follow Him. After 44 years spent as an evangelical Christian, who would ever have thought the Lord would lead me into the Orthodox Church? I was very close friends with Ravi Zacharias and I'm certain my conversion created a great deal of confusion in Ravi's mind. Nevertheless, I would never presume to suggest that the Lord is not using Ravi's witness. The evidence is in the fruit... just as in the fruit of Mother Teresa and Billy Graham.
Obviously I believe with all my being that the Church "is" the Orthodox Church. However, as Ron and Thomas have pointed out - we do not know where the Church is not. Perhaps the Lord will have you stay where you currently are. Why? For His purposes and His alone.
However, let me add this: should you feel an impetus to enter the Orthodox Church, by all means respond to it. You will not be disappointed.
And let's play a little game while we're at it. Let's suppose the Orthodox Church is NOT the true Church. Do you honestly believe for one minute that the Lord would punish you if you were to enter it? He knows the intention of your heart..that you only want to worship and serve Him better... that you only desire to better equip yourself for a more victorious life... one of richer service. He's not awaiting an opportunity to stamp you out, Nick... Adele. He is slow to anger and rich in mercy.
Pray and then in obedience follow His leading.
James
