The Pope and Orthodoxy

I have a couple of questions concerning the Orthodox view of the papacy-

1.Why don't the Orthodox believe in the Pope?

2. How do the Orthodox explain the verse in the Bible where Jesus said to Peter that He was going to build His church upon the rock which was Peter?

I would sincerly appreciate a response to these questions because I am trying to learn as much as I can about Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. I would also appreciate a response to my prior post on the apostolic succession of the Roman Catholic church because these are deep questions that I am seeking answers to.
