Mike: There a several canonical Orthodox Churches, comprising about 350,000,000 people. The largest of course is the Russian Church with over 150,000,000 members. Then there are the ancient churches, Constantinople, Antioch, Alexandria, and Jerusalem. There are the churches of Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Greece, Albania. Then there are the churches in the Western World the only independent one is the Othodox Church in America. There are about 4,000,000 Orthodox in the US and Canada. Then there are the Oriental Orthodox Churches, these churches separated from the Orthodox about 1500 years ago. They are the Armenian Church and the Coptic Churches. They are very close to the canonical churches and hopefully with a little but more dialogue they can be part of the canonical churches. In fact communion can be given by the canonical churches in most places to the Oriental churches. In Britian there is a very active Antiochian presents. You may be interested in visiting their website. Look up Antiochian churhes in Britian on the web it will lead you to them. They have a catherdal in London and several evry active congregations. Please keep in contact. I would also recommend that you follow Bishop Kalistos Ware, the head of the Classics depatment at Oxford. He is a leader of Orthodox in Britian.
