The Middle Eastern problem is very complex. Yes - Yassar is was and always be a terrorist. I am sure he did not meet his 72 virgins, but an evil hades. The Orthodox Church of Jerusalem and in fact Syria must walk a very careful path. Yassar was the leader of his country no matter how odious a man he actually was. The church even praised Ivan the Terrible when he died. It had to. Just the same here. Between Yassar and the Jews, the Holy Church of Jerusalem is always under siege. Do you know that more Palestinian Orthodox live in Sidney Australia then live in Palestine? Our dear and oldest Orthodox Church is fast becoming a museum. Our church must take the crumbs being the minority from both the Jew's and the Muslim's table. Pray for our Holy Churches in that region.
