"You'll generally find that discussions among ROCORites (or ROCA or ROCIE or HOCNA or whatever new splinter group they've managed to make) focus around attacking Papists, Ecumenists, Sergianists, Modernists and a host of other "ists". That appears to be their raison d'etre."
As an Antiochian, I've found that to be generally untrue. Like most jurisdictions, they have their problem people who troll on internet discussion boards proclaiming the superiority of (pick your jurisdiction). Their 'raison d'etre' was a pretty good one (St. Tikhon's direction to the escaping bishops) as well and the rest of our jurisdictions had no issue with ROCOR until the 70s/80s (at a time when some were influenced by certain movements outside of ROCOR.) Us Antiochians can recall that our own Met. Anthony Bashir of blessed memory, was consecrated by ROCOR bishops at the Patriarch of Antioch's direction. There may be some ROCOR who do behave as you describe, however that is no reason to smear all of them as being that way. We have just as many uncharitable folk amongst Antioch, OCA, GOA, etc. And as well remember: if you indeed are Orthodox, you very may well be in communion with ROCOR as soon as Moscow and ROCOR have accomplished their reconciliation (which is full underway.) Will you schism with Moscow and the rest when ROCOR is welcomed by your or my jurisdiction?
