I have recently read a document by Met. Thedosius that condemned capital punishment, listing it along with abortion and euthanasia. I was not aware that the Church had any such position on this issue, or even held any position at all. A friend of mine has given me some information. I would like to know what others know of the general position of the Church, or what others have read of the Church Fathers regarding this issue.
Personally, I don't think I would be too upset either way. I can't seem to make up my mind about it. Though, I do think I would find comfort in the thought that the Church opposes capital punishment.
I would enjoy any discussion or insight that any have to offer!
