Re: capital punishment

I pretty sure that I read in my studies that when St Vladimir converted to Orthodoxy he banned capital punishment in Rus. He did this based on his understanding of Christianity & the Bishops from the Byzantine Empire actually told him that he shouldn't do that. Obviously this policy was later changed in Rus/Russia.
