Hello Robert, I am a recent convert to the Holy Church of Christ. I came in after about a year of heavy calvinistic influence. The way that I see this whole issue over the soverienty of God and the free will of man is that it is a huge mystery. Yes there were church Fathers in the past that spoke of pridestination, but they were not calvinists. The true christain life of persuing holiness and being transformed into Christ's image is found in its fullness in the Orthodox church.I had to come to the conclusion that the faith that gave to us the scriptures in the first place still existed and that this church was and is the Orthodox faith.
